Frequently Asked Questions: Text-based porn games
Really, not a single picture?
Often none at all, sometimes just a few supplementary illustrations. Everything relies on the text and on the freedom of action afforded to the player.
What engines are used?
Mainly Twine and QSP, both of which can be played directly in the browser, without the need for installation.
Why play this rather than a picture card game?
Because text has no production costs: these games offer worlds and variations that no graphics team could ever afford to create.
